If the only tool you have is a hammer, it is tempting to treat everything as if it were a nail. Also known as Maslow's hammer, this parable describes the excessive dependence on a familiar or preferred tool - the so-called law of instrument. By extension judgmental, it limits our scope of action through predisposition or knowledge, but it also contains creative implications: The repeated use of an instrument shapes not only objects or the environment, but our perception itself. 

In this exhibition, the two artists Annika Eschmann and Rafael Lippuner thematize the relationality that arises as a consequence. The reduction of possibilities leads to repetition, which appears as a tendency but can also be intensified to the point of a sprawling, space-filling approach.
